8 Osaka Expo "Signature Pavilions" Shown to Press

Osaka, April 3 (Jiji Press)--A preview ceremony was held Thursday for eight "signature pavilions" designed by eight prominent individuals for the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka, which begins on April 13.
Each pavilion is themed on aspects of "life."
The eight figures are biologist Shinichi Fukuoka, anime director Shoji Kawamori, film director Naomi Kawase, broadcast writer Kundo Koyama, roboticist and University of Osaka professor Hiroshi Ishiguro, musician Sachiko Nakajima, media artist Yoichi Ochiai and Keio University professor Hiroaki Miyata.
The pavilions are arranged in an oval at the center of the Expo site, representing their independence and cooperation.
Through exhibits illustrating the rise of life and the future in 50 years' time, in which people and humanoid robots coexist, the pavilions are aimed at deepening visitors' understanding of existence.
