1.3-Meter-High Tsunami Observed in Japan's Iwate

   Tokyo, July 30 (Jiji Press)--A 1.3-meter-high tsunami was observed Wednesday at a port in Kuji, Iwate Prefecture, northeastern Japan, after a massive earthquake occurred near Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula the same day, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
   The agency issued tsunami warnings in the morning to many Japanese areas facing the Pacific Ocean, saying that tsunamis may reach up to 3 meters in height.
   Elsewhere, a tsunami of 50 centimeters was observed during the morning in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, which neighbors Iwate.
