Vietnams FPT signs $67mn deal with Indonesian innovation firm to drive tech-powered ESG solutions
Vietnamese tech giant FPT Corporation has signed a US$67-million master service agreement on digital transformation and sustainability initiatives with KMP Aryadhana, Indonesia's leading cooperative for innovation.
The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday during Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam's state visit to Indonesia, highlighting the strategic partnership between the two nations.
The five-year agreement focuses on KMP Aryadhana's implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices across key sectors, including waste management, digital education, cooperative education, and digital agriculture to support its food security program.
FPT will leverage its expertise in artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things, and cloud computing to integrate advanced technologies into these ESG and education initiatives.
Both sides also plan to establish an AI research lab and launch digital transformation initiatives in education and ESG practices, not only in Yogyakarta but also nationwide and globally.
"As a dynamic economy with an innovation-driven vision, Indonesia plays a crucial role in FPT's growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region," said Nguyen Van Khoa, CEO of FPT Corporation.
"Our collaboration with KMP Aryadhana not only strengthens the ties between Vietnam and Indonesia but also reinforces FPTs global competitiveness in emerging technologies, particularly AI."
The Vietnamese tech giant anticipated its partnership with KMP Aryadhana would accelerate Indonesia's digital transformation across key sectors such as waste management, digital education, forest resource management, and smart agriculture.
Prof. Dr. Ahmad Subagyo, chairman of KMP Aryadhana, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "KMP Aryadhana is delighted to receive FPTs attention and support, not only in terms of technological expertise and experience but also in their international vision, which will help our ESG programs reach a global audience."
