MANILA, Philippines — Ayala Corp. will sell 40 percent of its four-year-old logistics arm to Danish transportation and logistics giant AP Moller to help the company scale operations amid growing demand for services.

Ayala said in a statement on Thursday that it had entered into an agreement with AP Moller Capital, through EMIF II Holding III BV, for the latter to acquire part of AC Logistics via share subscription.

The country’s oldest conglomerate did not disclose further details, including the transaction amount, noting that discussions about the final subscription price were ongoing.

It noted that the acquisition would help address “the growing and increasingly more complex logistics requirements of a fast-growing economy by helping businesses build cost-efficient supply chains while contributing to greater food security across the country.”

“A country of 7,000 islands requires considerable logistics infrastructure, and we would like to help address this need. Working together with partners like A.P. Moller Capital, we believe we can provide real solutions,” said Cezar Consing, president and CEO of Ayala Corp.

Founded in 2021, AC Logistics currently offers supply chain services and operates distribution centers across the country.
