MANILA, Philippines — Philippine vessel BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) arrived at Tien Sa Port in Da Nang City, Vietnam on Holy Monday for a three-day port visit, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

In a statement, PCG said that Vietnam is the last and final country on its scheduled tri-country port visit mission, which includes Thailand and Malaysia.

It added that the vessel was welcomed by the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) in an official arrival ceremony.

“The three-day port visit featured a series of people-to-people engagements aimed at enhancing operational cooperation and promoting mutual understanding,” the agency disclosed.

“Key activities include courtesy calls on the Da Nang People’s Committee and the VCG Region 2 Commander, a welcome dinner hosted by the VCG, ship tours for both VCG personnel and members of the Filipino community in Vietnam, and a reception dinner hosted by the PCG,” it added.

PCG said the visit will end with a farewell ceremony and a joint search and rescue and firefighting exercise.

It further explained that the visit is part of its “broader initiative to promote maritime cooperation, strengthen regional ties, and uphold shared values in the maritime domain.”
