MANILA, Philippines — Agricultural output grew by 1.9 percent in the first quarter of 2025, driven by stronger poultry, fisheries and crop production, according to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

In a report on Wednesday, PSA said the value of production in agriculture and fisheries had reached P437.74 billion, up from a year ago’s P429.62 billion.

While crop production grew by only 1 percent in the period, its value, amounting to P249.61 billion, accounted for 57 percent of the agricultural performance.

9.4% poultry growth


Poultry production logged the highest growth increase of 9.4 percent to P75.22 billion, with almost all commodities posting growth.

Fisheries, meanwhile, improved by 1.5 percent to P55.10 billion.

Livestock production, on the other hand, saw a 2.8-percent decline during the period, reaching only P57.82 billion. Its major contributor, hog production, recorded a 3.7-percent decrease.
