MANILA, Philippines — Inflation remains the most urgent concern of most Filipinos, according to a Pulse Asia survey published on Thursday.

Pulse Asia’s nationwide survey, held in June, said that “public concern is most pronounced on the issue of inflation,” with 62 percent of Filipino respondents expressing the utmost concern in the matter.

Inflation eased in May at 1.3 percent, the lowest in nearly six years, while inflation for June had a slight uptick to 1.4 percent, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.

Nevertheless, inflation topped the concern of Filipino respondents consistently in previous survey periods of the firm: June 2024 (72 percent), September 2024 (71 percent), November 2024 (74 percent), January 2025 (70 percent), February 2025 (73 percent), March 2025 (69 percent), and April 2025 (70 percent).

For this period, the concern about inflation is highest among respondents in Metro Manila at 72 percent, followed by those from Mindanao at 64 percent.

Sixty percent of respondents in Balance Luzon and Visayas also expressed the same utmost worries about inflation.

The concern about this is roughly similar across classes — 62 percent in Class ABC and E, and 63 percent in Class D.

Meanwhile, 51 percent of respondents identified increasing the pay of workers and reducing the poverty of many Filipinos as their most urgent concern (26 percent).

The nationwide survey was conducted from June 26 to 30, 2025, using face-to-face interviews, based on a sample of 1,200 representative adults 18 years old and above.

It has a ± 2.8 percent error margin with 95 percent confidence level. /das
