Ittiporn Boonpracong stated that the EC has received DSI's urgent letter and is in the process of compiling information before making a decision.

After the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) issued a top-secret urgent letter dated February 3, 2568, to the Election Commission of Thailand (EC), requesting details regarding the complaints that DSI has undertaken, as well as the progress of each case.

The letter specifically referred to the investigation into the case of the 2024 Senate election, which revealed collusive behavior, organized operations, and monetary compensation, potentially constituting an " criminal association" offense. DSI is preparing to classify it as a special case and inquired whether the ECT would allow DSI to conduct the investigation or if the EC would handle all criminal allegations itself.

On February 18, EC Secretary-General Sawang Boonmee responded to the DSI Director-General, stating that the matter had not yet been presented to the full EC board for consideration since it remained unclear whether DSI had officially taken up the case, the ECT was unable to provide a definitive response at that time.

Most recently, on Saturday, February 22, EC Chairman Ittiporn Boonpracong said that the EC office had received the letter and was in the process of reviewing the matter before submitting it to the commission for further deliberation.
